Pickle Jar ( Candle holder or Vase)

Using an empty pickle jar ( make sure to clean out the jar in warm water to get rid of the smell) you can easily create your own creative vase or a candle holder.

Supplies:
1. Pickle Jar, or any other recyclable glass you might throw away.
2. Tissue Paper, the kind you get when you buy clothing or use to wrap gifts.
3. Mod Podge. I used the gloss-lustre, but you could use the regular one.
4. Scissors
5. Stencils, or you can just freehand your own designs.
6. Sponge Brush. The tissue paper is very delicate so be sure to use a sponge or your hands.

First, you need to cut out all the tissue paper you will use in your design.
Second, place some glue on the jar then place the tissue on top of it.
Third, place more glue on the top of the tissue paper.

Please be very careful while gluing the tissue paper, it tends to tear if you pull tightly or put too much glue.

Also, using tissue paper will allow the candle light to shine through...thicker paper may not work.

Lastly, I would recommend letting the first layer dry before you do a second layer.

Ideas: You could do a red white and blue theme for the Fourth of July for a fabulous evening picnic outside. You can also tie a ribbon on the rim to make it more decorative.

Please let me know if you have any other ideas.
